Make Your Data Come Alive

How data visualization can fuel your digital storytelling.

When

12. June.

Time: 10:00 - 11:00

What

How data visualization transforms your story
You want to tell the important story. The truly game changing and amazing story. You may even have The Scoop, but your dataset is huge, it is complex and incomprehensible, and the relationship between the data is too difficult to communicate to your audience. You need to visualize your story.

Data visualized the right way can make really powerful stories that impact thousands of people. Recently, creative infographics, strong visuals and informative storytelling have been brought to the forefront in the newsrooms, creating completely new ways of telling the important stories.

Lasse Lambrechts is a data journalist in the Bergens Tidende newspaper. He loves to dig into and structure data to hunt for good stories. He will deliver this riveting presentation:
The Seven Deadly Sins of Data Visualization.
It is now easier than ever before to visualize data. This is not necessarily a good thing. Lasse Lambrechts takes on the role as the preacher of hellfire and brimstone to tell you what you absolutely must not do.

You will also meet Highsoft and Håvard Tveit, and have a look into one of the most powerful chartings tools there is. Highcharts Cloud is an easy to use data visualization platform that allows teams to create charts and graphs for web, mobile and broadcasting.

This talk will be given in English.

This event is a part of the Media City Bergen Future Week on June 11-14.
