There is no doubt; AI will massively impact the media industry in years to come.

When

12. June.

Time: 08:00 - 10:00

What

Future Week includes a special AI-track where we look into the opportunities and benefits across the industry, from content creation, via analysis and meta data management, to audience experience. Meet some of the industry experts and pioneers, have a glimpse into what’s to come and learn how artificial intelligence will impact the media industry.

AI technology, and specifically its powerful Machine Learning capabilities, is becoming smarter and faster and can recognize people, objects and speech in video/audio-based content. Mjoll, IBM and other companies have developed solutions that can analyze content with a remarkable accuracy for utilization in processes throughout the supply chain. How will this impact the media industry in the years to come?

Lars Kristiansen has been head of NRKs department for investigative journalism and current affairs for 15 years, and is now leading a project to rise quality of investigative journalism across the 3500 employee organization of NRK. He has been editor or/and managing director in several media houses in Norway, since he left the position as journalist in the newspaper VG in 1995. He has a long time addiction of investigative journalism, and has been a juror in various journalism awards, including Emmy, Skup, Gullruten and Schibsted Journalism Awards. He advocates that understanding AI is a necessity and a key to success for investigative journalism.

Steinar Søreide is the CTO of Mjoll, a startup specializing in using AI for metadata, video analysis, object recognition, speech to text analysis and captioning, and more.

Yves Bergquist is the Director of the “AI & Neuroscience in Media” Project at the Entertainment Technology Center, where his team is developing next-generation applications drawn from AI and neuroscience for the media and entertainment industry.

Yves is also CEO of AI startup Corto, which is building a comprehensive knowledge engine to help media and entertainment companies develop deep, “genomics”-type insights into how their content resonates with audiences. Corto creates integrated insights across content and audience data using semantic knowledge representation and probabilistic evolutionary meta-learning to autonomously “breed” new generations of machine learning algorithms from hundreds of “parent” algorithms.

Doug Clark EMEA leader for Watson Media which is IBM’s AI and Cloud Platform business across Media and Entertainment industries. He’s on a mission to help these businesses pivot and unlock the full power of Cloud and AI technologies to enable them to achieve their full business growth potential.

This seminar will be held in english.
