As we wrap up an amazing Future Week 2024, we want to start by sending a huge thank you to our incredible speakers, partners, and audience who made it all possible. Your passion, insights, and energy turned this week into something truly unforgettable!
We were fortunate to hear from some of the brightest minds in the industry—BBC’s Shayan Sardarizadeh on fact-checking in the digital age, Pete Mathias exploring the next frontier of AI, Ryan Broderick on the future of the web, and Financial Times’ Isabelle Campbell on driving digital transformation. We delved into the trends that will shape tomorrow, from Schibsted’s vision for the future of news media to the transformative power of AI, and had thought-provoking discussions on truth and lies in the presidential campaign with our disinformation panel.
A standout moment of the week was the presentation of the Anne Jacobsen Memorial Award, a tradition at Future Week created to honor Anne Jacobsen's lasting legacy. This year, the award was given to Inas Hamdan from Sydsvenskan in recognition of her remarkable work in uncovering the systematic misinformation spread by AI Jazeera. Her dedication to truth embodies the spirit of this award and the values Anne Jacobsen stood for.
A special shoutout to our amazing festival producers, Kulturoperatørene AS and Creative Technology, as well as our venue and hospitality partners Entra, Compass Group, Securitas, and our talented photographer, Thor Brødreskift.
Finally, a big thank you to our partners: Agenda Vestlandet, TV 2, Schibsted and Bergen Kommune.
Thank you all for making this Future Week one to remember! We hope you left Media City Bergen inspired, with fresh insights and lasting memories. Check out the photos below and relive the best moments!
